This past weekend was all about the celebration of today and looking forward to the future and all it has to offer me. On Sunday early in the morning I officially joined the mid-twenties crew. So this weekend was staked full of fun events. Starting with Friday night Matt and I had a Disney game night. Complete with old-school Disney Scene It, Mouseketeer PJs, burgers, margaritas and twinkle lights. Since Friday was National Tequila Day margs were nonnegotiable, I used the recipe from Helen's Lethal Margaritas in the Netflix show Sweet Magnolias (which was picked up for a second season, YAY!)

Then on to Saturday, a trip to our favorite N J winery, Old York Cellars in Ringoes. It's always a good time there. They are doing an amazing job with limiting contact service, with online ordering and staggering tables to allow for plenty of space between parties. Our tasting started out with a frozen birthday treat for both Matt and myself, it was a berry wine slushie, it was the perfect refresher to start out our tasting. For our first tasting since early March, Matt selected the OYC Favorites and I selected the Premium Tasting Experience. In my tasting I had the Southpaw White which is a white wine fortified with brandy and I saved it for last to pair with my wine infused cupcake birthday treat. I also had the Sparkling White wine which was a dry and crisp chardonnay. Next up on my tasting flight was Reserve Chardonnay, which is a favorite between myself and Matt, it has hints of apple, butterscotch and yellow rose. Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon was next up on my flight which features hints of cedar, cherry and clove. One of my favorite reserve wines was featured on this tasting flight, it is the Reserve Rosé, which has hints of grapefruit and strawberries. Last but certainly not least on my tasting flight was the Vinters Blend White.

On Sunday we ventured south to Longwood Gardens in PA. I was excited to be back because I hadn't been since I was a little kid. With concerns of the pandemic the gardens did an amazing job with plenty of signage dictating where masks were required and where they could be removed with proper social distancing observed. It was one of the hottest and most humid days, but since I've been home most of the days since the middle of March I'm excited whenever I can get out of the house for some fresh air and a change of scenery. The gardens was just that exactly, with beautiful flowers in the Conservatory and water features throughout the grounds it was truly breathtaking.

After our trip to the gardens it was back to home-base for some of our favorite soft serve ice cream. The mask I wore out for ice cream featured Anna & Elsa, of course what other mask would I wear to get ice cream? Once our dessert was had and thoroughly enjoyed we went back to the apartment for the classic dinner and a movie. We had teriyaki salmon and brown rice, paired with a glass of Vinter's Blend White from Old York Cellars. In keeping with our Marvel movie marathon, to properly educate myself, we watched Captain America: Civil War.
